SEETEST 2018's success!
- 11 Oct 2018
Another year, another successful edition of the SEETEST conference! For the first time the conference took place in Belgrade, Serbia. 350 participants from 24 countries had the opportunity to enjoy the insightful speakers and talks.
Hosted in the luxurious Crowne Plaza hotel, the conference also gave participants the opportunity to experience the warmth of Serbian hospitality and the beauty of its capital city. There was also the traditional Social Event the first evening of the conference, which took place in Top of the Hub Restaurant and offered a breathtaking birds-eye view of Belgrade!
Everything was organised with the biggest attention to detail thanks to the organizers – SEETB and Quality House. The unofficial start was on Wednesday, when there were organized full-day courses on some of the most interesting topics in the field currently, such as risk-based testing, mobile applications testing, test automation and team efficiency.
And the Program Committee did a pretty good job with choosing the speakers - feedback on the talks and chosen topics is overwhelmingly positive! Erik van Veenendaal gave both a keynote and a tutorial talk on the topics of Test Strategies, Analytical Testing and Beyond, and Requirements Engineering for Testers, respectively, as did Yaron Tsubery who told us more about the Practical Principles of Load & Performance and shared with us A way to grade your Project, Reduce your Backlog and a Predictive Hint. On the first day of the conference Olivier Denoo helped us understand more about users in ‘Whtvr srs wnt (whatever users want)’, while Vipul Kocher gave us the Basics of AI and AI in Testing. Mette Bruhn-Pedersen enlighted us on Typical Challenges when Scaling Agile, while Jan Jaap Cannetieger told us more about ‘Flexible Test Management’.
This was all washed down gracefully with a glass of nice wine on the top of Belgrade on our Social Event. Top of the Hub gave visitors the best cocktail atmosphere, along with the young Serbian band Profesori, who astonished everyone with their talent and how easy they had people dancing.
On the second day of the conference, there were 20 talented session speakers who gave presentations on varying topics such as test management, IoT, Agile, Regression testing and much more. The tradition of rewarding the Best Paper and Best Presentation at SEETEST continued again this year. Gerie Owen and Peter Varhol from QualiTest, USA won the Best Paper award for How Did I Miss That Bug: Managing Cognitive Bias in Testing, while Mirjana Kolarov won Best Presentation for Balancing your test automation with exploratory testing.
SEETEST 2018’s organizers would like to thank everyone involved in the conference for all the help and support during this year, which they couldn’t have made it without. They give their sincere gratitude to their sponsors Endava, Milestone, iSQI, Levi9, Zuhlke and Novomatic, as well as SEETEST’s supporting organizations and media partners, and hope to see you again next year in Bucharest!
