SEETEST 2024: A Remarkable 13th Edition in Zagreb, Croatia!

For the first time, SEETEST made its debut in Zagreb, Croatia, for its 13th edition on September 26-27, 2024. The conference took place at the stylish Maistra City Vibes Hotel International, with a blend of onsite and online participation, continuing its Hybrid format. This year SEETEST brought together over 630 participants from 27 countries, demonstrating its growing global appeal!

SEETEST 2024 kicked off on September 25 with a highly anticipated pre-conference course, Automation in Testing – Design Patterns for Optimal Approach led by Predrag Skokovic. This full-day course set the tone for the knowledge-packed days ahead.

On September 26, the conference began with engaging tutorials. The morning sessions included “Introduction to AI and Techniques for the Testing of AI-Based Systems” by Dr. Klaudia Dussa-Zieger, “Exploratory Testing, Making it Work” by Pablo Garcia Munos, “Mastering API Test Automation: Beyond the Basics” by Joel Oliveira, and “Embracing the Diversity of Communication Styles” by Rob Lambert. The afternoon sessions were just as enriching, featuring “AI-Enabled Test Management: A Real-Time Guide” by Maryna Didkovska, “Test Planning Explained” by Predrag Skokovic, “Powerful Insights into Quality Using Metrics and Team Self-Assessment” by Mette-Bruhn Pedersen, and “Let's Build a Continuous Quality Assurance Strategy Around Your CI/CD Pipeline” by Szilard Szell.

The attendees were impressed by both the venue and the Social Event, which took place at The Panorama (17th floor) at The Westin Hotel Zagreb on the evening of September 26. Overlooking the beautiful city, the Social Event was filled with lively energy and a lot of fun, thanks to the fantastic performance by the band Daddy Cool.

Day 2 featured two keynote presentations that resonated deeply with the audience: “Testing with AI – How Can AI Support Us?” by Dr. Klaudia Dussa-Zieger and “I Will Never Mention ‘Manual Tester’ Again” by Pablo Garcia Munos.

Along with these thought-provoking keynotes, SEETEST proudly hosted a record 10 women speakers. We also marked a special achievement as this was the first time the conference was sold out of Hybrid tickets as early as July!

This year, SEETEST achieved a new record for paper submissions, receiving more than 100 submissions from 27 countries, making it the most competitive year yet. 26 Session Speakers presented their topics in 7 sessions – AI in Testing, Performance & Security Testing, Test Management, Agile Testing, Test Automation, TPI and Testing in General. The Best Paper award, determined by our Program Committee, was won by Alexander Ganster for “The Human Factor: Enhancing AI-Driven Software Testing with Human Insights”, while the Best Presentation award, as voted by attendees, went to Wim Demey for “How LEGO Building Techniques Make Me a Better Tester”.

Industrial slots on Day 2 featured Visteon Corporation, Quality House, and Roxoft, providing valuable insights into the latest industry developments. The highly anticipated ISTQB Women in Testing Discussion Panel made its debut on the SEETEST stage for the first time.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our sponsors this year – Visteon Corporation, EPAM Systems, and Solved – for their continuous support, as well as to everyone who participated and contributed to the event's success.

We are thrilled to announce that SEETEST 2025 will be hosted in Sofia, Bulgaria! We can’t wait to see you there for another exciting edition!
