Vipul is a co-founder of SALT and Verity software and President of the Indian Testing Board, the ISTQB board for India. Prior to that he co-founded and ran PureTesting, a very successful testing services company. He has over 23 years of experience including managing Adobe Reader testing.

He has won several awards including the best paper award at STAREast 2006 and the Logica CMG Triple Star Award for the most original contribution at EuroStar 2005. He has been a Keynote speaker at many testing conferences in the USA, Europe, Asia and Australia-New Zealand.

Vipul invented Q-Patterns, a method of capturing testing knowledge and writing reusable test cases. This method is used by various organizations across the world. He is also the inventor of the extension to Noun-and-Verb technique for creating large number of tests from minimal documentation in shortest time possible.

Full Course Outline
Mobile applications have become ubiquitous and everybody expects the usability and performance of these apps to be great. However, the performance of a majority of apps leaves a lot to be desired.

Performance testing of mobile apps is not well understood including the skills and tools required for it. Performance of mobile apps needs to be evaluated in terms of not only speed and space requirements but also battery consumption. There are various tools that the platform suppliers provide which can be used by testers and developers to monitor performance parameters and understand the root cause of performance issues, if any.

This workshop will enable the tester or developer to understand various performance needs and tools to monitor the same for Android applications. This will be done in a hands-on manner with real world android applications and Android Studio. A demo of performance testing for iOS applications using Xcode will also be demonstrated.

NOTE: Attendees should bring their laptops. Prerequisites and setup instructions will be sent to registered attendees to prepare the environment.
